A decade-long collaboration between the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and CSH has helped to create 4,000 supportive housing units. Earlier this month, the two partners announced they are taking that collaboration to a new level with a $12 million commitment from the foundation to build additional supportive housing in Los Angeles County.
Half of the money will come in the form of a grant and half as a loan to CSH.
“Initial investments in CSH supportive housing development loan funds from the Hilton Foundation allowed CSH to leverage nearly $270 million in public financing and over $336 million in private financing over the past 10 years for homes for people experiencing long-term homelessness,” according to a statement. “CSH used these resources to fund dozens of supportive housing projects, including many that were previously stalled during the 2009 economic downturn.”
