Last week, Speaker John A. Pérez, Speaker-Elect Toni Atkins, Assemblymember Shirley Weber, and Assemblymember Brian Maienschein kicked off the Yes on Proposition 41 (the Veterans Housing and Homeless Prevention Bond Act of 2014) campaign in a San Diego Town Hall held at the Veteran’s Village of San Diego (VVSD).
The Town Hall was held to help Veterans and San Diego voters understand the benefits of Proposition 41, which reallocates existing (unused) bond funds to prevent and end veteran homelessness.
“Proposition 41 does not issue new bonds to fund this program, instead it takes bonds that are sitting idle and puts them to good use. This is a practical, common sense solution we can put in place to work to solve one of California’s most pressing issues,” said Speaker John A. Pérez.
