100k Homes Campaign Announced Veteran Homelessness Dropping Nationally

Veteran Homelessness2.JPGJust in time for Veterans Day, the 100,000 Homes Campaign announced it had reached a major milestone in the effort to end homelessness.

Since 2006, veteran homelessness has been reduced by nearly 70% nationally.

The Campaign has been instrumental in this achievement, having helped to house more than 20,000 homeless veterans through its promotion of evidence-based strategies like Housing First. This success “represents the fulfillment of the Campaign’s Clinton Global Initiative commitment through Got Your 6, a national partner effort to support veterans as leaders [and] civic assets.” It also shows that the nation is on-track to fulfil President Obama’s promise to end veteran homelessness by December of 2015.
