MHS SIP Case Management Selected as Housing Program of the Year!

The Mental Health Systems (MHS) Serial Inebriate Program Case Management II (SIP CM II) was selected as Housing Program of the Year at the 27th Annual Behavioral Health Recognition Dinner last month! The Behavioral Health Recognition Dinner recognizes and honors individuals and groups who provide outstanding service to the behavioral health system of San Diego County.

The SIP CM II Program has been an integral partner to the downtown Campaign, having successfully housed and provided intensive alcohol and drug case management services to 40 of the now 108 individuals who were moved from ‘homeless to housing’ through the Campaign’s November 2012 Blitz Week efforts.

The MHS SIP program began in 2000 to “reduce the revolving door of chronic alcoholics cycling through the criminal justice and healthcare systems,” and has deepened its work with this high need population with the goal of providing “life-enhancing housing and recovery options that include integrated services for persons of all ages, backgrounds, needs and situations.”
