Civic San Diego’s Atmosphere project is back on track! Previously stalled by the end of redevelopment, the mixed-use project has been approved by the San Diego City Council. Construction is estimated to begin in 2015. Nearly a quarter of the 205 units will be designated to homeless and special-needs residents, part of Civic San Diego’s greater vision to allocate a significant portion of their projects to the homeless. This is the first green-lighted development under the city’s Affordable Housing Master Plan, and the start of a new affordable housing revitalization in the downtown area.
