100,000 Homes Campaign Reaches Halfway Milestone!

On May 10, the national 100,000 Homes Campaign (of which the Campaign to End Homelessness in Downtown San Diego is a participant) announced that it reached its halfway milestone -participating communities housed over 50,000 chronic and vulnerable homeless individuals, including more than 15,000 veterans!  This exciting milestone was achieved in the midst of a reporting drive dubbed the “100,000 Homes Report-a-thon,” during which communities across the country examined months of data to report uncounted housing placements.

The 100,000 Homes Campaign is a national movement of “communities working together to find permanent homes for 100,000 of the country’s most vulnerable homeless individuals and families by July of 2014.”  The Campaign to End Homelessness in Downtown San Diego reports its housing placements to the national Campaign each month, and is on their “Fully Committed List” of communities.  For more information on the 100,000 Homes Campaign, visit www.100khomes.org
