New Monarch School Campus Opens

On April 24th, the Monarch School hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Nat and Flora Bosa Campus, a 50,000 square foot state of the art downtown facility which more than doubles their current capacity and enhances education for homeless youth with modern classrooms and equipment. The school is dedicated to “helping children break the cycle of homelessness” and serves children in grades K-12 who are impacted by homelessness.

The celebration featured remarks from elected officials and educational leaders including County Supervisor Greg Cox, Mayor Bob Filner, City Council President Todd Gloria, and County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Randolph Ward, and featured performances and remarks by Monarch School students.

Watch Monarch School Principal Joel Garcia discuss the school’s story on the Ellen DeGeneres Show last year.
