Getting Involved: December 2012

Help RTFH End Homelessness! Volunteer for the 2013 WeAllCountWe All Count 2012

WeALLCount will take place on January 25, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 am, during which volunteers will help count homeless individuals throughout the County.  In addition, volunteers have the opportunity to participate in the surveying process that weekend, from Friday, January 25 to Sunday, January 27.  Led by the Regional Task Force on the Homeless (RTFH), WeALLCount seeks to assess the characteristics of those homeless individuals and families.  The data collected by volunteers enables our Continuum of Care to better design, deliver, and measure service outcomes.  Close to 350 volunteers have already registered to help count and survey the homeless in our region, but at least 400 more are still needed so visit www.CountSD.org to sign up!

Still Looking for a Home

The Girls Think Tank (GTT) is still looking for funding and a home for the Homeless Transitional Storage Center to keep the center running in 2013.  The Storage Center is an essential service for helping get our downtown homeless population off the streets, helping to “make it easier for its clients to use public transportation, seek employment, work, attend classes, meet with health & service providers and transition back to housing”.  Contact info@girlsthinktank.org if you can help!
