Last week, members of the Campaign Leadership Team gathered to celebrate 2 years of working together to end homelessness in downtown San Diego. This multi-sector group of more than 60 leaders includes representatives from the downtown business community; Federal, State and local public sector agencies; elected officials; experts in homelessness planning and affordable and supportive housing; veterans advocates; healthcare and medical service providers; philanthropic organizations; and representatives from academic and research institutions.
The Leadership Team has been meeting each month from July 2010 to July 2012 to guide the Campaign’s efforts, share best practices and provide updates on progress. Since the Campaign’s launch, the group has been visited by many special guests, including Congressman Bob Filner, U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) Deputy Director Anthony Love, Assemblymember Toni Atkins, City Councilmember Todd Gloria, and San Diego Chief of Police William Landsdowne.
We would like to recognize this remarkable group and thank the Campaign Leadership Team for their dedication and tireless efforts in helping to get San Diego’s most vulnerable population off the streets and into permanent housing!
